What is COAL?

FChance of a Lifetime (COAL) is a 15-month missionary and leadership development experience for young men and women who want to grow in faith, develop as leaders, and serve communities around the world.

COAL is built around a phased structure. Participants move through three distinct training environments, each designed to equip them spiritually, relationally, and practically. Together, these phases create a journey that prepares participants to return home ready to make a meaningful impact in their own communities.

Throughout the program, participants experience mentorship, hands-on ministry, intentional community, and cross-cultural service — all while growing personally and spiritually alongside a close-knit team.

So far, COAL participants have traveled to places like Boston, Mexico, India, Germany, Nigeria, South Africa, and the Philippines. Along the way, they’ve built lifelong friendships, served churches and communities, and stepped into deeper purpose and leadership.

Season 6 has officially launched, and a new group is beginning the journey.

The Blueprint:
Our Program Strategy

COAL participants experience three transformative phases: ✅ Phase 1: Begins at Hope for Kids camp, where participants serve as full-time summer staff. They mentor youth, work alongside experienced ministers, and gain leadership experience through faith-based programs for families and young people. ✅ Phase 2: For nine months, participants train as ministry interns in select locations such as Gainesville, FL, Philadelphia, PA, or with RevivEE in Eastern Europe. They work in teams to build youth, campus, and young professional ministries, developing essential ministry and outreach skills. ✅ Phase 3: The final phase is an international mission experience, giving participants a taste of life as a missionary while serving in another country. They become part of a global faith community, supporting church growth and outreach efforts worldwide. Why COAL Matters COAL is more than a program—it’s a life-changing opportunity.
