Click this link to apply for your child to be part of the CREW or a JR COUNSELOR. There is a LIMIT of 2 weeks for teens to volunteer for CREW spots.

Teens who are interested in being at camp for more than 2 weeks are encouraged to participate in the HFKLA!!! See the Hope for Kids Leadership page for more information. 

Hope for Kids Jr. Volunteer Position Instructions (8th-12th)

VOLUNTEER UPDATES: 

Thank you SO much for your willingness to serve at ‚ÄúR‚ÄĚ Camp or Teen Camp as a volunteer! Please take the time to read the information below.

Steps to VOLUNTEER at ‚ÄúR‚ÄĚ Camp or Teen Camp:

  1. Complete the application on line, following the¬† VOLUNTEER¬†¬†link above. You will select the week of camp and which position from the list of options, just like you do when you register for camp.¬†Once your application is received, you will receive an email confirming that we received your application. ¬†You will then need to…
    1. Wait to receive your acceptance email from Camp Hope for Kids and THEN…
    2. Pay your volunteer fee: Volunteer fee for CREW or JR Counselors  is $150 (see fee details below). CAMPUS CAMP Volunteer fee is $80.

Once all the pieces are completed: application, reference checks (HFK does these), and payment of fee is confirmed, you will be contacted with confirmation of your volunteer position and week of camp.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS: Listed below are the positions available for  Volunteers who are rising 8th-12th graders or 13-18 years old. Volunteer spots are limited and offered first-come first serve basis, so we encourage you to take care of the requirements as soon as possible. We at HOPE for Kids will do our very best to honor your request for a certain position, however we reserve the right to change your position, if it is in the best interest of the camp.

TEEN CAMP-CAMPUS CAMP (Asst Counselors)You must be a disciple and a 2016 High School Graduate to apply. You will be responsible for assisting your Lead counselor in a teen camp cabin of 8 -10 campers. No previous experience is necessary; however you must be a member in good standing in your church and your references will be very important. As a Campus Camper, while at camp you will get to attend classes specifically designed to help teens transition from the teen ministry to the campus ministry.

JR Counselors  (8 male & 8 Female spots per week)  You must be a disciple (for at least 6 months) and at least a rising High School Sophomore (10th grade) to apply. You will be responsible for assisting your Lead counselor in a cabin of 8 -10 campers. No previous experience is necessary; however you must be a member in good standing in your church and your references will be very important.

The CREW:¬†(10 Male & 10 Female spots per week): You must be 13-18 years old and receive ¬†favorable recommendations. Your service in this position is what makes camp run! You will be serving ‚Äúbehind the scenes‚ÄĚ in many ways. On a rotating basis you will help in the kitchen, on the grounds, and with the activities. You will have a Counselor and Assistant living in your cabin. ¬†To be a CREW volunteer, you must be enrolled in another session of Teen Camp (or HYC or HFKLA) and paid in full. NEW for 2015- You can ONLY be a CREW VOLUNTEER for 2 WEEKS!!

**PLEASE NOTE**: Jr. Volunteers are limited to TWO weeks on the Crew and will NOT be automatically selected to volunteer for multiple weeks of camp. All Jr Volunteers will be evaluated each week that they serve and may or may not be approved to return. 

Volunteer Fees: The fee to serve at Camp as a CREW member or Junior Counselor is only $150!  At a mere $25 a day, this fee covers the cost of food for the week and 4 full time staff dedicated to this group to ensure that they have a structured, spiritual and supervised week at camp.
