Summer Employment Opportunities

Camp HFK will be looking for a few good folks for this Summer! Here are descriptions of two of our harder to fill postions.

‚ÄčKitchen Manager
The Kitchen manager supervises and coordinates all food services at Camp Hope For Kids, helps to ensure proper nutrition, and safeguard the health of all campers, staff, and volunteers.¬† Able to set up a system to help the kitchen staff and volunteers be able to settle into work flow quickly.¬† Able to effectively train and manage varying kitchen staff and volunteers every week.¬† Responsible for food safety, and make sure the kitchen maintains PA health department standards.¬† Must be¬†ServSafe¬ģ¬†certified.¬† Able to work with the Head cook by assisting with menu creation.¬† May need to assist the Head cook with food preparation as needed.¬† Be adept at shopping for large numbers while managing a limited food budget.‚Äč

‚ÄčHead Cook
The Head Cook for Camp Hope For Kids must have extensive experience cooking for large numbers.¬† Must be able to develop weekly menus with Kitchen Manager with proper nutrition as their first priority.¬† Responsible for cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout the week.¬† Able to work with the Kitchen Manager to come up with detailed shopping lists.¬† Must have knowledge of food quality and safety standards and be ServSafe¬ģ certified.¬† Will work with Assistant Kitchen Manager/Assistant Cook to task volunteers throughout the week.‚Äč

FULL TIME STAFF INFORMATION

Thank you for your interest in applying for a Full Time Camp Staff Position for 2018. To be considered for a position, you must complete the application below and it must be submitted by January 8, 2018. We will do our best to let you know something no later than February 15, 2018.

The 2018 Staff will need to be available from approximately May 30-August 19, 2018. A staff position is usually 10-12 weeks long. Full time camp staff receive room and board for the weeks they are at camp and a small stipend. The experience you gain is priceless.

Please Note:

  • Applicant MUST be at least 18 years old ( by May 31, 2018 ) and a member in good standing in your current congregation. Preference will be given to those applicants with prior HFK Leadership experience.
  • Assistant and ‚ÄúIn-Training‚ÄĚ positions are available for those 17 years of age (rising HS Seniors) and older with limited compensation and flexibility on start and end dates.
  • Hope for Kids is only able to hire about 20 FT Staff. If you are not selected to be part of the staff, so please strongly consider applying for the Hope for Kids Leadership Academy (HFKLA),
  • Jobs available include (but are not limited to): HFKLA interns, HFKLA Coordinators, ¬†Camp Directors, Arts & Crafts, Property Manager, Property Assistant, Crew Chief, Great Hall Coordinator, Great Hall Assistant, Galley Coordinator, Allergy Kitchen Manager, Cooks, Activity Directors, Aquatics Director (must be at least lifeguard certified, prefer WSI), Infirmary Coordinator & Administrative.¬†
