Steps to VOLUNTEER at Camp HOPE for Kids:

  1. Complete the application on line, following this link:  Adult Volunteer Application
  2. You will receive an email confirming we received your application, which will include a request for the following:
    1. A CURRENT background check
    2. Payment of volunteer fee:
      1. Adult with enrolled Camper – $40
      2. Adult without enrolled Camper – $85
      3. Married Couple without enrolled Camper – $120
    3. Character References
    4. A Sex Offender search will be performed by HFK on all applicants over 18.
  3. Once we receive the above documentation, perform the Sex Offender Check and receive payment, you will be contacted with confirmation of your volunteer position and week of camp.

Volunteer Positions

These are the positions available for Adult Volunteers (over 18) at camp. Volunteer spots are limited and offered on a first-come first serve basis, so we encourage you to take care of the required information as soon as possible. We at HOPE for Kids will do our very best to honor your request for a certain position, however we reserve the right to change your position, if it is in the best interest of the camp.

Camp Nurse (RN) (2-4 needed per week): Must be a LICENSED & Insured RN in Pennsylvania (or willing to obtain a temporary license- HFK will help )with current CPR/First Aid. Responsible for the intake and distribution of medications, the treatment of minor injuries etc. No previous camp experience necessary. Questions about this position can be emailed directly to Heather Geeting at hopeforkidsinfo@gmail.com. RN’s do NOT pay a volunteer fee.

Infirmary Assistant (2-4 needed per week):  You will assist the Nurses with their various duties at camp. Must have current First Aid & CPR certification.

Kitchen Staff (8-10 needed per week): No previous experience required. You will assist the cook by prepping, serving and cleaning for each meal. Physically, it is best if you are able to stand for long periods of time and are able to lift at least 15 lbs. Maintenance (4-6 needed per week) :  You will undertake any number of maintenance type jobs around camp. Some examples might be: repairing toilets, replacing toilets, building a deck, painting, roofing, etc. No previous experience is necessary; however skilled volunteers are preferred.

Counselors (8 Males & 8 Females needed for RC1, TC1, RC2 & TC2, 16 Males & 16 Females needed for RC3):  You will be responsible for leading a cabin of 8 -10 campers with an assistant or co-counselor. You must be a disciple for at least 6 months and have great recommendations. No previous camp experience is necessary; you will receive training prior to the start of camp.

Ministry Directors:  FULL for 2013! 

General Volunteer:  Someone who just wants to be at camp and will be happy serving wherever they are needed.  

Adult Volunteer Fees: The fee for an adult with a child or children enrolled in a week of camp, has been reduced to a mere $40 to offset the cost of food.

Adults without a child enrolled in camp, you will pay a small fee of only $85 to cover the cost of your food during your week at camp.  Couples without children enrolled in camp will pay a combined fee of $120 to cover the cost of food for their week at camp.

R-Camp
